Kazlıçeşme

Mehmet Bey constructs another fountain here in 1546, but with a goose motif this time, and the region begins to be called Kazlıçeşme (The Goose Fountain). The goose relief about which Evliya Çelebi expresses his amazement saying “It is impossible to describe it, you feel like it is alive when you see it.” was damaged in 2002. The missing parts have been found and a master sculpture renovated the fountain. The famous relief was located in its original place in 2010 when it was restored as a part of Culture Valley project.
